Is using the directory free for homeowners?
Yes, completely. Search, view profiles, read reviews, and contact contractors at no charge. Contractors pay to be listed.
How is this different from Angi or Thumbtack?
We do not resell your contact info as a lead to multiple contractors. When you contact a contractor here, the message goes to that contractor only. No middleman, no five-back-to-back sales calls.
What is the Trade-Tested badge?
A Premium-tier credential awarded only after Alex Schult personally reviews the contractor’s work, license, and reviews. Less than 10% of listings qualify.
How are reviews verified?
Reviewers must confirm the job and upload at least one photo. We manually flag reviews that look like the contractor wrote them.
Can I cancel my contractor plan anytime?
Yes. Featured and Premium plans are month-to-month. Cancel from your dashboard, your listing reverts to Starter, and your data stays.
